Programme Manager - West Coast

The Animal Health Board (AHB) is responsible for implementing the TBfree
programme to eradicate bovine tuberculosis (TB) in New Zealand. TB remains one
of New Zealand’s most serious animal health problems, affecting domestic cattle
and deer herds throughout the country.

We are seeking a qualified person to take over as Programme Manager based in
Greymouth. You will be responsible for delivery of the TB vector control programme in the
West Coast and Tasman regions.

As Programme Manager you will:

  • Prepare and implement a vector control programme for the West Coast/Tasman region.
  • Be responsible for the effective management of six staff, appointed
    contractors, capital and expenditure (worth around $10 million to the local
    economy).
  • Oversee communication of activities to interested parties. The West Coast
    control programme faces strong opponents and has unique challenges.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Contractor management, supervision or operational experience – preferably
    dealing with natural resources.
  • Experience in financial and contractual management.
  • Outstanding analysis, planning and organisational skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and consultative communication skills.
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in natural resources, agriculture, science or commerce beneficial.

Business Analyst - 6 month contract, maternity leave cover - Wellington

From October, you will be responsible for ensuring the Animal Health Board’s Vector Management processes and procedures reflect the organisation’s values and policies, and comply with relevant legislation.

To excel in this role, while the incumbent is on parental leave, you will be an innovative, results and solutions focused individual who enjoys improving business systems and processes. It is advantageous if you have knowledge of, or an interest in, our industry as you are also tasked with providing high quality training, advice and support to users of Vector Operations processes and procedures.

This is a 6 month contract to cover maternity leave; however an extension may be possible.

Your Responsibilities Include:

Reporting to the Vector Operations Manager, you will be an integral part of this team. 

Working closely with other business groups within the organisation, you will be responsible for championing the project co-ordination and efficiency of the business systems and processes for the Vector Operations team.
